The invention discloses a control system and method for an intelligent corridor elevator instead of walk. The intelligent corridor elevator instead of walk comprises a plurality of lifting units, wherein the number of the lifting units is equal to that of stairway sections. Guide rails are fixedly arranged on the corridor wall corresponding to each stairway section, and the lifting units are arranged on the guide rails in a sliding mode. The control system comprises call switches, a riding intension obtaining unit and a control unit, wherein the call switches are arranged on corridor walls of stairway platform regions, the riding intension obtaining unit is used for obtaining the riding intension of a user according to operations on the corresponding call switch of the user and a selected target floor, and the control unit controls the lifting unit close to the user to move to the position where the user is located according to the riding intension of the user. According to the control system and method, people on different floors can get in or out at the same tine through the intelligent corridor elevator, the automation degree is high, the target floor can be input, and the carrying efficiency is high.
