In this device and method for adjusting the relative position between coils, a power supply coil (5) and a wheel stop section (7) are provided to a vehicle parking space (S) and distance data indicating the distance (L1) in the front-back direction between a power-receiving coil (3) and a wheel (1a) of an electric vehicle (1) is received by a reception device (9). A control device (13) controls a drive device (11) on the basis of this distance data so that the wheel stop section (7) or the power supply coil (5) is moved and the distance (L2) in the entry direction between the power supply coil (5) and the wheel stop section (7) becomes the same as the distance (L1) in the front-back direction indicated by the distance data. As a result, the position of the power-receiving coil (3) matches the position of the power supply coil (5) in the entry direction when the wheel (1a) of the electric vehicle (1) stops after advancing into the parking space (S) and coming into contact with the wheel stop section (7).
