This onboard image processing system is equipped with: imaging units that photograph the road surface around a vehicle and acquire captured images thereof; an image generation unit that generates a bird's-eye view image, which shows a bird's eye view of the surroundings of the vehicle, on the basis of the acquired captured images; an extraction section that extracts road surface markings around the vehicle using the generated bird's-eye view image; a detection section that detects any of one or more types of noise among road surface noise, obstacle noise, and fouling noise observed in the extraction of the road surface markings by the extraction section; and a parking space recognition section that recognizes a parking space on the basis of either a partial capture area in the captured images or a partial bird's-eye view area in the bird's-eye view image in accordance with the detected noise.
