A stroke sensor detects the distance between a first member and a second member that is provided so as to be movable in a direction toward and away from the first member. The stroke sensor comprises: a magnetism generating unit that is provided on the first member and generates magnetism; a magnetic body that is provided on the second member and is biased toward the magnetism generating unit by way of the magnetic force from the magnetism generating unit; and a pressure detector that is provided on the second member, that is abutted by the magnetic body biased by the magnetic force from the magnetism generating unit, and that detects the distance between the first member and the second member on the basis of changes in the pressure applied from the magnetic body.
