A wheel leg assisted composite obstacle crossing device comprises a main frame assembly, an external control mechanism, a communication adapter as well as a track traveling assembly, a retractable leg assembly and a traveling wheel assembly which are electrically connected with the communication adapter, wherein the control mechanism controls the track traveling assembly, the retractable leg assembly and the traveling wheel assembly through the communication adapter so as to drive the whole obstacle crossing device to finish advance and obstacle crossing operations; the main frame assembly is used for connecting all the assemblies and supporting the whole; the track traveling assembly assumes main flat road traveling tasks and cooperates with the retractable leg assembly for obstacle crossing; the retractable leg assembly can swing, extend and retract up and down and is used for supporting and adjusting the whole device during crossing of high obstacles or deep trenches; the traveling wheel assembly is an integral moving device when tracks are insufficiently connected with the ground. All the components run flexibly, cooperate with one another properly and act together to cross obstacles easily.
