Provided are a vehicular steering control device capable of achieving an ideal feel of steering, and a vehicular steering control method. A turning control unit (19) sets a value summing a steady steer control amount which is a control amount corresponding to a steering angle, and a differential steer control amount which is a control amount corresponding to a steering angular velocity, as a target turning angle for a turning wheel. If the driver is executing a turn-back operation of a steering wheel (1), a differential steer control amount is computed to be smaller than when not executing the turn-back operation. In this way, the phase of the turning angle with respect to the steering angle at the time of turn-back operation is delayed compared with the phase at the time of a turn-forward operation.
