The invention relates to a hoop type pipe core lifting device and an operation method thereof. The hoop type pipe core lifting device comprises a beam, and the lower portion of the beam is connected with a hoop through hanging units. Each hanging unit comprises a hanging rod, and the hanging rods are connected with the hoop through hinges. One end of each hinge is hinged to the corresponding hanging rod, and the other ends of the hinges are hinged to pulling rods which are arranged on the hoop to apply force to the hoop. Limit rods are arranged on the lower portion of the beam, a pulling rope is arranged on the lower portion of each limit rod, and the pulling ropes can be connected to the hinges or loosened from the hinges. Limit blocks corresponding to the upper end face of a pipe core is arranged on the hoop. According to the hoop type pipe core lifting device and the operation method thereof, the problems that glass fiber pipes cannot be lifted, product quality is affected during prestressed concrete cylinder pipe (PCCP) lifting and lifting holes are needed during lifting of vertically arranged drainage pipes are solved.
