The invention discloses an overload self-protection electric bicycle, and belongs to the field of transportation tools. The overload self-protection electric bicycle comprises a frame, a pedal and a saddle, wherein the pedal and the saddle are installed on the frame. Gravity sensors are arranged above the pedal and below the saddle and connected with a control unit. The control unit is connected with an electric bicycle controller. The gravity sensor above the pedal is paved with a pedal protection layer. The gravity sensors are arranged above the pedal and below the saddle, the control unit can monitor the load of the electric bicycle in real time, and when the load of the electric bicycle reaches the set weight, the electric bicycle controller stops running of the electric bicycle; and accordingly, the phenomena of the overload and the overman of the electric bicycle are effectively eradicated, the safety of a rider and a passenger is guaranteed, and the service life of the electric bicycle is prolonged.
