The invention provides a monitoring method, system and device of the service capacities of expressway service areas. According to the monitoring method, the number of vehicles and the number of people in a service area can be monitored in real time; when the number of the vehicles and the number of the people in the service area reach rated values, a prompting message which indicates the saturation of the capacity of the service area can be emitted. With the monitoring method, system and device of the invention adopted, other vehicles on expressways can be timely prompted either the number of the vehicles in the service area is saturated or the number of the people in the service area is saturated, and the other vehicles will not enter the service area when the capacity of the service area is saturated, and the other vehicles will be prompted to select other service areas, and therefore, the vehicles and the people can use service resources in the expressway service areas in a balanced manner.
