The invention discloses a winding drum type elevator anti-falling device which comprises a control device and an anti-falling mechanism which are arranged at the top of an elevator lift car. The control device comprises a weightlessness switch and an execution mechanism, and the weightlessness switch controls the anti-falling mechanism through the execution mechanism. According to the winding drum type elevator anti-falling device, a mechanical detection control device mode is adopted, through the weightlessness switch arranged on the elevator lift car, switch-on and switch-off of the weightlessness switch are conducted according to the weightlessness state generated when an elevator descends at an overspeed, brake of the anti-falling device is achieved, the anti-falling device is accurate in detection speed and reliable in fault detection, the work performance of the anti-falling device can be remarkably improved, execution and closing can be conducted automatically, anti-falling automation is high, and the anti-falling performance of the elevator is reliable.
