Provided is a slip control device for an electric vehicle capable of reliably eliminating wheel slip with a simple configuration without a needless drop in traveling speed. The maximum number of rotations of a driving wheel (Nmax) is calculated by a maximum wheel-rotation-number calculation means (22) in accordance with the following expression: (Nmax - N1) / N1 = Lambda min where N1 represents the number of rotations of a driven wheel, and Mumin represents an ideal slip rate. The slip control device determines whether or not the number of rotations of the driving wheel (N2) exceeds the maximum number of rotations of the driving wheel (Nmax). On determining that the maximum number of rotations of the driving wheel (Nmax) has been exceeded, the slip control device sets a torque command value to a motor (3) to zero.
