The invention discloses an automatic dimming method for an automobile inside rear-view mirror. The automatic dimming method comprises the following steps: S101, collecting a light source behind an automobile; S102, collecting an ambient light source of the automobile; S103; judging whether the brightness of the light source behind the automobile is greater than that of the ambient light source or not and greater than a first preset value or not, if yes, executing step S104, and otherwise, executing step S105; S104, regulating the color of the lens so as to enable the brightness of the light source reflected by the lens to be greater than that of the ambient light source and greater than a second preset value; S105, judging whether the brightness of the light source behind the automobile is less than a third preset value or not; and S106, if the brightness of the light source behind the automobile is less than a third preset value, executing the step S104. The automatic dimming method for the automobile inside rear-view mirror is capable of improving the experience and satisfaction degree of a driver.
