A decrease in the wheel load on the outside rail side of a lead axle when travelling at a low speed, particularly in an exit easement curve section, is decreased. A railroad vehicle carriage includes a carriage frame (22) supported by axle springs (10) disposed on axle boxes (9) freely rotatably supporting an wheel axle (7), with air springs (4) disposed on both sides in a vehicle width direction of the carriage frame (22), each of the air springs (4) being provided with an automatic height adjustment device (6) for maintaining a constant height of a vehicle body (5) supported by the air springs (4). The axle boxes (9) are disposed at positions closer to the center in the vehicle width direction than wheels (7b) attached to both sides of an axle (7a) constituting the wheel axle (7). A height detection position of the automatic height adjustment device (6) is positioned between the axial center of the air springs (4) and the axial center of the axle springs (10). Passing performance in an exit curve section can be improved.
