The method is characterized by comprising the steps of measuring the instantaneous kinetic energy in the elevator door closing process through an instantaneous kinetic energy measurement device so as to obtain the instantaneous kinetic energy value Ex at the moment t; measuring the instantaneous door-closing speed Vx of the elevator doors at the moment t synchronously through a door leaf speed measurement device; obtaining the equivalent mass Ma of the elevator doors and mechanical parts rigidly connected with the elevator doors through calculation according to the instantaneous kinetic energy value Ex and the instantaneous door-closing speed Vx; obtaining the door-closing kinetic energy Ea at the average door-closing speed of the automatic elevator doors through calculation according to the equivalent mass Ma and the average door-closing speed Va. According to the door-closing kinetic energy detection method and device, the door-closing kinetic energy of the automatic elevator doors at the average door-closing speed can be accurately detected, the door-closing force, the instantaneous door-closing kinetic energy and the door-closing kinetic energy at the average speed of the various automatic elevator doors can be detected, and therefore the dynamic safety performance of the elevator doors can be analyzed.
