The independent wheel suspension (1) has connecting rods (2, 12), and the connecting rods (2, 12) have flexible pivot bearings (2.1, 12.1)to be mounted on the vehicle body (20) in such a way as to be pivotable about pivot axis (S1, S2), the connecting rods (2, 12) have wheel connection points (2.2, 12.2) for at least indirectly connecting vehicle wheels (5, 15) and the connecting rods ( 2, 12) are at least indirectly connected to the vehicle body (20) through passive spring units (3, 13). In order to counteract oversteering in the case of a vehicle axle with independent wheel suspension, especially in the absence of lateral links, according to the present invention, spring units (3, 13) designed to generate component forces (F1y, F2Y) directed outward along the Y axis and increased during compression on the connecting rod (20) is provided.
