The invention discloses a hoister load monitoring system and monitoring method based on the fiber bragg grating technology. The system comprises a fiber bragg grating strain sensor, a fiber bragg grating temperature sensor, a fiber bragg grating sensing analyzer, optical fibers, a communication device, an industrial personal computer and a displayer. The fiber bragg grating strain sensor and the fiber bragg grating temperature sensor are fixedly arranged on the outer surface of a head sheave bearing pedestal and are connected with the fiber bragg grating sensing analyzer through the optical fibers. The fiber bragg grating sensing analyzer is in signal communication with the industrial personal computer through the communication device, and monitor values are displayed on the displayer. Bymeans of the system, hoister loads can be effectively and accurately subjected to monitoring and early warning, and the field adaptive capacity is high.
