The invention relates to a locking device of an electric connection device for electric or hybrid motor vehicles, comprising an electromotive drive, which comprises an electric motor (8) and a multistage transmission arranged downstream of the electric motor, a locking element (6), and a drive housing (13) which houses at least the electric motor (8) and the transmission, wherein the electric motor (8) acts on the locking element (6) via the transmission in order to produce actuating movements. The invention is characterized in that the locking element (6) is connected to a movable support (15) of the drive on the housing side.
