The invention discloses a large electric windlass which comprises a motor 1, a coupler 2, a right-angle planetary reducer 3, a front shaft 4, a small gear 5, a clutch 6, an anchor chain wheel 7, an anchor chain wheel shaft 8, a large gear 9 and an anchor windlass base 11. The motor 1 is connected with the right-angle planetary reducer 3 in vertical direction through the coupler 2. The right-angleplanetary speed reducer 3 is mounted on a flange of the anchor machine base 11; an output shaft of the right-angle planetary reducer 3 is connected with the front shaft 4, the small gear 5 is arrangedon the front shaft 4 in a sleeved mode and is in clutch with the front shaft through the clutch 6, the cable lifter 7 is arranged on the cable lifter shaft 8 in a sleeved mode, the large gear 9 is connected with the cable lifter shaft 8 through a bolt and a pin shaft 10, and the small gear 5 can be connected with the large gear 9 in a meshed mode. According to the device, all parts are combined into a whole, the weight and the size of the windlass are reduced, the space occupied by a ship is reduced, the self weight of the ship is reduced, and the load capacity of the ship is improved.
