The invention discloses an elevator user detection system. A user is correctly detected using an image captured by a camera having an ultra-wide angle lens. A user detection system for an elevator according to one embodiment is provided with an imaging part, a detection part, and a sensitivity changing part. And the camera shooting part is provided with an ultra-wide-angle lens and is used for shooting the interior of the passenger car and the elevator waiting hall in a large range. The detection unit uses the image captured by the image capture part to detect a user or an object present in the passenger car or the elevator lobby. The sensitivity changing part changes the detection sensitivity when the user or the object is detected by the detection part at least at the central part and the peripheral part of the image.
