The invention discloses a suspension type transportation device which comprises a suspension rail, a climbing device, a suspension device and a transportation vehicle. The suspension rail is connected with the suspension device through the climbing device, and the suspension device is connected with the transportation vehicle so that the transportation vehicle can move on the suspension rail; the climbing device comprises a rack arranged on the rail and a gear arranged on the suspension device, and the gear matches the rack so that the transportation vehicle can move on the rack through the gear. According to the device, a method for improving the gradeability of the suspension type monorail vehicle is adopted, traction force and braking force are transmitted in a ramp area through meshing between the driving gear and the rack, the vehicle is driven to move forwards, the problem that an ordinary vehicle is insufficient in adhesive force on a ramp line is solved, and the gradeability of the vehicle is greatly improved; and the advantages of high cableway climbing ability, high suspension type monorail traffic speed and large traffic volume are achieved. And compared with a cableway system, the device has the advantages that the transportation capacity and the climbing section speed are improved.
