This vehicle air-conditioning unit includes: an air-conditioning case (12) in which an in-case passage is formed through which air blown into a vehicle cabin passes; a blower (20) that has a blower fan (201) which is disposed in the in-case passage and rotates around a fan axis (CL1), and that, through the rotation of the blower fan, sucks air from one side in the axial direction of the fan axis and blows out the same; and a straightening mechanism (26) that is disposed on the airflow-downstream side of the blower fan in the in-case passage and is partitioned to define straightening passages (2681, 2682) that straighten swirl flow generated by the rotation of the blower fan in the air blown out from the blower fan. In the straightening mechanism, a contracting straightening passage (2681) is formed in which an outlet (268b) from which the straightened air flows out has a smaller flow passage area than an inlet (268a) from which the swirl flow flows in.
