The invention discloses a method and equipment for automatically grabbing automobile windshield glass and belongs to the technical field of automatic equipment manufacturing. The method is characterized in that a gripper for grabbing the automobile windshield glass is installed on a robot and used for grabbing the windshield glass, the gripper comprises a frame, a shifting rod, a vacuum suction cup and a gripper flange, and a horizontal sliding rail is arranged on a bottom edge of the frame; a first-stage cylinder and a second-stage cylinder are mounted on the horizontal sliding rail, a telescopic rod of the second-stage cylinder is connected with an adjusting frame, and a front end of an adjusting arm is connected with a deflector rod through a spring. During working, the gripper is conveyed to the corresponding position of a glassware frame through a robot, a first-stage air cylinder stretches out to drive the shifting rod to push a stop lever of the glassware frame to rotate outwards, then the whole frame is lifted upwards, and then a second-stage air cylinder stretches out to push the stop lever of the glassware frame to be attached to the stop block of the glassware frame; and finally, a vacuum chuck is controlled to suck the glass, and the glass is conveyed to the whole vehicle position for installation. The method is advantaged in that full-automatic material taking can be achieved, and artificial intelligence and automation of a factory are further promoted.
