The invention relates to the field of building crane equipment, in particular to a tower crane which comprises a tower head, an arm root section, a variable-amplitude oil cylinder and a pull rod assembly. One end of the tower head lower part is connected with the lower joint of the arm root section; one end of the pull rod assembly is connected with the upper part of the tower head, the other end is connected with an upper joint of the arm root section, and the pull rod assembly is telescopic to change length; and one end of the variable-amplitude oil cylinder is connected with the upper joint of the boom root section, and the other end is connected with the upper part of the tower head. As the tower crane comprises the length-adjustable pull rod assembly, the length of the pull rod assembly is adjusted along with the amplitude variation of the cargo boom when the cargo boom is subjected to amplitude variation, and when the cargo boom is in a non-working state, the position of the cargo boom is locked by fixing the length of the pull rod assembly, so that the position of the cargo boom can be adjusted. Therefore, the position of the cargo boom in a non-working state is not changed.
