A method for manufacturing a one-piece woven (OPW) airbag, including a method for manufacturing an OPW airbag. The method includes providing a yarn, warping the yarn on at least one warp beam of a loom while weaving the yarn into a fabric airbag structure having a two-layer portion defining an inflatable volume and a single-layer portion forming a seam defining the inflatable volume. The plurality of yarns overlaps one another to form a non-woven alignment element in the at least one monolayer portion. The airbag structure is cut to define an OPW airbag. The alignment element is aligned with an alignment element on the panel. The airbag structure is sewn to the panel, and the alignment elements are aligned with each other.
