The invention provides a battery management controller and a communication method for the battery management controller. The communication method comprises the steps that a high-voltage board communicates with a domain controller through a first daisy chain; the sampling plate communicates with the domain controller through a second daisy chain; the high-voltage relay communicates with the domain controller in a PIN mode; wherein the first daisy chain and the second daisy chain are mutually independent, and an instruction signal for controlling the sampling board is directly sent by the domain controller; an instruction signal for controlling the high-voltage board is directly sent by the domain controller; and a driving instruction for controlling the high-voltage relay is directly sent by the domain controller.
