A vehicle body structure (A) for an electric vehicle is provided with: a floor panel (41) that constitutes the floor of a passenger space (R1); and a center frame (80) extending in the front-rear direction, the center frame (80) being disposed at a center portion of the passenger space (R1) in the vehicle width direction so as to be separated upward from the floor panel (41). The battery unit (Y) is provided with battery racks (16-19) which are arranged below the floor panel (41) and extend in the front-back direction. In a plan view, the battery racks (16-19) and the center frame (80) are in a positional relationship overlapping each other.
