The invention discloses a subway passenger room air purification system and method. The system comprises at least one wind speed sensor arranged on the section of the end of each carriage, an environment tester arranged in each carriage, a plurality of purification devices movably arranged on the top of the carriage at intervals in the length direction of the carriage, and a data processing controller. The data processing controller calculates a wind speed empirical value according to the position information of the wind speed sensor, calculates a feature point wind speed empirical value according to the position information of the feature point, and corrects the feature point wind speed empirical value according to the wind speed data and the wind speed empirical value to obtain a corrected feature point wind speed; and according to the feature point wind speed empirical value, the corrected feature point wind speed and the environment information, starting control or movement and starting control is conducted on the multiple purification devices in the corresponding compartment. The purification range is widened, and the purification effect is improved.
