A steering chassis for a tower crane comprises: a chassis platform; steering assemblies, each steering assembly coupled to a bottom of the chassis platform; the steering assembly comprises an assembly main body for supporting the chassis platform; the oil cylinder is fixedly installed in the inner space, and the oil cylinder is communicated with a hydraulic source so that the piston can move between a contraction position and an extension position relative to the oil cylinder; the upper end of the ball head supporting rod is connected to the piston, the lower end of the ball head supporting rod is connected with the ball head seat, the ball head supporting rod is connected with the assembly body in a sliding mode, and the ball head seat is connected to the chassis walking device; the steering and leveling motor is used for enabling the ball head supporting rod and the chassis walking device to rotate, when the piston is located at the contraction position, the assembly body and the ball head supporting rod are kept locked, and the ball head supporting rod cannot rotate, and when the piston is located at the stretching position, the assembly body and the ball head supporting rod are unlocked, and the ball head supporting rod and the chassis walking device can rotate.
