The invention provides a vulnerable traffic participant collision early warning method and system based on edge computing nodes. The vulnerable traffic participant collision early warning method comprises the following steps: monitoring vehicle speed information of each traffic red and green intersection in real time by using a vehicle speed measuring device, identifying an overspeed vehicle in real time, and obtaining a license plate number of the overspeed vehicle; sending the license plate number corresponding to the overspeed vehicle to an edge computing node terminal of a next traffic light intersection in the driving direction of the overspeed vehicle according to the driving path of the overspeed vehicle; and the edge computing node terminal controls the traffic billboard on the pedestrian path to display the overspeed vehicle after receiving the license plate number corresponding to the overspeed vehicle, and controls the traffic billboard according to the speed of the overspeed vehicle. The system comprises modules corresponding to the steps of the method.
