The invention discloses a variable-transmission-ratio electro-hydraulic coupling intelligent steering system of an electric motor coach. The variable-transmission-ratio electro-hydraulic coupling intelligent steering system comprises an environment sensing unit, an upper-layer controller, a lower-layer controller, a steering wheel, a steering column, an open-winding permanent magnet synchronous motor, a variable-transmission-ratio mechanism, a circulating ball type hydraulic pump, a steering rack, a steering tie rod, a steering gear, a piston and a hydraulic oil cylinder. The invention further discloses a steering control method which comprises a depth deterministic strategy gradient decision control method and a dual-source permanent magnet synchronous motor electro-hydraulic coupling steering system under a variable transmission ratio mechanism. According to the invention, a basis is provided for realizing L4-level automatic driving, the portability and the stability of the passenger car during high-speed and low-speed driving can be improved, hydraulic power-assisted steering and electric power-assisted steering are integrally controlled, and larger torque is provided for steering of the electric passenger car.
