The invention relates to a circuit arrangement (5) and an electrical system, in which in the circuit arrangement (5) an output connection (12) of a current limiting control circuit (10) is connected via a resistor (R) to a control input (22) of a semiconductor switch (20), and in which a gate driver (25) is connected via a gate resistor (RG) to the control input (22) of the semiconductor switch (20) and to the resistor (R). The current limiting control circuit (10) is designed to vary an output impedance of the current limiting control circuit at the output connection (12) in order to actuate the semiconductor switch (20). A source connection of the semiconductor switch (20) is connected to a reference potential (GND) of the circuit arrangement (5), and the semiconductor switch (20) is designed to set a current (I) in a circuit between the electrical energy source (30) and the load (40). The first inductor (L1) and the second inductor (L2) are connected in series in the circuit, and a first input connection (14) of the current limiting control circuit (10) is connected with a node between the inductors (L1, L2) through a capacitor (C). The current limiting control circuit (10) is designed to detect a recharge of the capacitor (C) caused by an overcurrent and, in response thereto, to increase the output impedance of the semiconductor switch (20), whereby the increased output impedance counteracts the overcurrent.
