The invention belongs to the technical field of intelligent transportation, and particularly relates to a terminal positioning method and device, a collision early warning system and electronic equipment. The method is applied to an Internet of Vehicles terminal, and comprises the following steps: acquiring a current position coordinate of the Internet of Vehicles terminal, and determining a target sensing area according to the current position coordinate; a target positioning mode and a target positioning frequency corresponding to the target sensing area are obtained, the positioning precision of the target positioning mode and the target positioning frequency are increased along with decreasing of a target distance and are decreased along with increasing of the target distance, and the target distance is the distance between the target sensing area and a collision-prone area; and positioning the Internet of Vehicles terminal according to the target positioning mode and the target positioning frequency. The positioning precision can be improved, the power consumption is reduced, and the endurance time of the terminal is prolonged.
