The present disclosure relates to a careless driving determination device and a careless driving determination method capable of accurately determining whether or not a driver is in a careless driving state by taking into account the wearing condition of a wearing article that covers a part of the face of the driver. A careless driving determination device uses a driver monitoring camera to acquire face image data of a driver's face. From among the face image data, a distribution range of a face orientation angle or a line-of-sight angle of the driver is calculated on the basis of a plurality of pieces of face image data acquired for a predetermined period of time. Furthermore, the state of wearing a mask or sunglasses is determined for each of the plurality of pieces of face image data. A threshold range is set in accordance with the determined wearing condition. Furthermore, if the calculated distribution range is included in a threshold range, it is determined that the driver is in a careless driving state.

    本公开涉及粗心驾驶判定装置及粗心驾驶判定方法,能够通过考虑驾驶者佩戴覆盖脸的一部分的佩戴物品的佩戴状况来高精度地判定是否处于粗心驾驶状态。粗心驾驶判定装置使用驾驶员监视摄像机来取得驾驶者的脸的脸图像数据。根据脸图像数据中的、在预定的一定期间取得的多个脸图像数据而运算驾驶者的脸朝向角度或者视线角度的分布范围。另外,关于多个脸图像数据的各个脸图像数据,判定口罩或者墨镜的佩戴状况。根据判定的佩戴状况设定阈值范围。而且,在运算的分布范围包含于阈值范围的情况下,判定为驾驶者处于粗心驾驶状态。
