A rubber compound for the carcass part of a tire, comprising at least a polymer base having cross-linkable unsaturated chains containing at least 50% by weight of natural rubber, a filler comprising carbon black, and a vulcanization system comprising sulfur. The vulcanization system comprises a mixture of at least one accelerator and at least one anti-reversion agent, said mixture consisting of at least one sulfonamide accelerator accounting for 25-80% by weight of the mixture and at least one anti-reversion agent accounting for 75-20% by weight of the mixture.
