A control system and method for automatic emergency braking (AEB) is provided. The control system comprises an information acquisition module configured to acquire vehicle driving information and road information; and a controller configured to determine a target deceleration for emergency braking of the vehicle based on the vehicle driving information including a real-time speed of the vehicle and road information and generate a deceleration request, the controller including: a proportional-integral controller having a proportional coefficient and an integral coefficient; the parameter adjuster is configured to adjust the proportionality coefficient and the integral coefficient based on the real-time speed and the target deceleration; wherein the proportional-integral controller generates first and second brake control components in accordance with the adjusted proportionality coefficient and integral coefficient, and wherein the deceleration request includes a brake control signal generated based on the first and second brake control components.
