The invention relates to the field of engineering machinery, and provides a tensioning mechanism, a tensioning method and hoisting equipment for a truss type boom. The tensioning mechanism for the truss type arm support comprises supporting rod assemblies, a second connecting assembly, a first connecting assembly, a connecting assembly and a driving assembly. The two supporting rod assemblies are symmetrically arranged at the top of the truss type arm support. The second connecting assembly is located at the free end of the supporting rod assembly and one end of the truss type arm frame and used for limiting the position of the supporting rod assembly. The first connecting assembly is located at the free end of the supporting rod assembly and the other end of the truss type arm frame, and the supporting rod assembly is connected with the truss type arm frame through the connecting assembly. The driving assembly is used for changing the position of the supporting rod assembly.
