The invention discloses parking space occupancy state detection equipment and a parking space state detection method, the equipment comprises a large screen system and a parking space management control system, and the large screen system is connected with the parking space management system through a wired network. The parking space management control system comprises a detection terminal and a vehicle-mounted code matching terminal. The detection terminal comprises an ultrasonic module, a motor driving module, a control module I, a storage module, a voice module and a receiving module; the ultrasonic module is fixed over a parking space, and the first control module is electrically connected with the other modules. The vehicle-mounted code matching terminal comprises a signal sending module, a second control module and a code matching key. The second control module is electrically connected with the signal sending module and the code matching key. The second control module and the first control module carry out signal transmission through the sending module and the receiving module. The parking space occupation condition is detected through the terminal device, reported to the system in time and displayed on a large screen, visitors can find available parking spaces quickly and effectively, and time is saved.
