The invention belongs to the technical field of vibration reduction, and particularly relates to a vibration isolator which is composed of a lifting mechanism and a tuning inerter mechanism, the lifting mechanism is supported by two telescopic connecting units, the motion trail of a lifting block is restrained through two guide shafts, the two telescopic connecting units on the two sides are connected through four connecting rods, and the two telescopic connecting units on the two sides are connected through the tuning inerter mechanism. The two ends of the tuning inerter mechanism are connected with connecting rods located on the left side and the right side in the lifting mechanism correspondingly, when vibration occurs, the two telescopic connecting units deform in advance, the tuning inerter mechanism outputs vibration mass, deformation of the two telescopic connecting units can be restrained, vertical lifting motion of the lifting block is restrained, and the vibration of the lifting block is restrained. Therefore, vibration isolation of the load connected to the lifting block is achieved. In addition, the vibration isolator has the advantages of high static state and low dynamic state, and can perform low-frequency vibration isolation.
