The invention discloses a low-power-consumption direct-current charger system and a control method, and relates to the field of power consumption of direct-current chargers, and the low-power-consumption direct-current charger system comprises an input power supply, a first switch, a charging module, an activation circuit, a holding circuit, a main control module, a second switch, a charging interface and a latch module. The input power supply can supply power to the charging module through the first switch; the input power supply supplies power to the activation circuit; the charging module supplies power to the charging interface and the main control module; when the direct current charger is in a standby state, the charging module and the main control module are not electrified, only the activation circuit is electrified, but the activation circuit has no output loop and no output consumption; only when the charging interface is detected to be in a connection state, the activation circuit is in a working state, the charging module and the main control module are electrified, and normal charging work is carried out; the technical problems of energy consumption and shortened service life caused by working of the main control module and the auxiliary module when the direct current charger is standby are solved.
