Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication in which a susceptible road user (VRU) user equipment (UE) indicates to a user that current location accuracy is sufficient or insufficient for approaching vehicles to determine whether they are dangerous for the VRU. The location accuracy may be based on an accuracy threshold configured at the UE, such as by a serving base station or roadside unit (RSU). The precision threshold may be configured by application layer signaling via common signaling or dedicated signaling, or may be pre-configured in the UE. When the VRUUE location accuracy exceeds a specified threshold within a particular time interval, the UE may notify the user that approaching vehicles will not determine their location with sufficient accuracy to perform an evasive action.
