The invention provides a vehicle power supply system based on a lithium battery. The vehicle power supply system comprises a power battery pack; the bidirectional DC/DC converter is connected with the power battery pack; the vehicle controller is connected with the bidirectional DC/DC converter; the data acquisition unit is used for acquiring operation parameters of the power battery pack and comprises an AFE chip, a current, voltage and temperature acquisition module and an SOC acquisition module; the protection unit is connected with the data acquisition unit and comprises a fault threshold determination module and a diagnosis strategy making module, and the fault threshold determination module is used for setting a proper fault threshold; the diagnosis strategy making module is used for making a diagnosis strategy based on the operation parameters and a fault threshold value and feeding back fault information; and the MCU control unit is connected with the AFE chip, the bidirectional DC/DC converter and the protection unit, and is used for controlling the bidirectional DC/DC converter, monitoring information and triggering a protection mechanism. The method improves the performance and safety of the electric vehicle, and has remarkable social and economic benefits.
