The invention discloses a vehicle-mounted storage battery monitoring system and method, the system comprises a wireless communication network and a storage battery data safety center, the wireless communication network comprises a storage battery monitoring module and a first short-distance receiving module, and the storage battery data safety center comprises a second short-distance receiving module and a server; the battery monitoring module is used for obtaining battery state parameters of a vehicle-mounted storage battery and sending the battery state parameters to the storage battery data safety center through the first short-distance receiving module. The server is used for receiving the battery state parameters through the second short-distance receiving module and determining the battery health index of the vehicle-mounted storage battery according to the battery state parameters; and if the battery health index of the vehicle-mounted storage battery is lower than a preset threshold value, generating a prompt message. Therefore, according to the system, the management personnel can know the state of the vehicle-mounted storage battery anytime and anywhere, the situation that the vehicle cannot be started due to the fault of the vehicle-mounted storage battery is avoided, and the fault rate of the storage battery is reduced.
