The invention relates to a shock absorber, a suspension system, a vehicle and a shock absorption control method. The shock absorber comprises a shock absorption piston, a first valve assembly, a second valve assembly and a control piece. The damping piston comprises a piston rod and a cavity for containing the piston rod. The cavity comprises a first cavity body and a second cavity body which are separated by the piston rod. The cavity is used for containing fluid. The first valve assembly includes a first one-way valve and a first throttle valve. The first valve assembly is in communication with the first chamber. The second valve assembly comprises a second one-way valve and a second throttling valve. The second valve assembly is in communication with the second chamber. The control piece is electrically connected with the first valve assembly and the second valve assembly and used for controlling the flow area of the first throttling valve and the flow area of the second throttling valve. The first valve assembly communicates with the second valve assembly, and the flow directions of the first one-way valve and the second one-way valve are opposite. The shock absorber is high in response speed and simple in control process, so that the controllability in the running process of the vehicle, the comfort of passengers and the driving feeling of the vehicle are effectively improved.
