The method comprises the following steps: carrying out insulation fault detection on a charging battery system, if an insulation fault is detected, storing the insulation fault, and disconnecting a charging contactor; if it is detected that an insulation fault occurs in the charging battery system, insulation fault detection is conducted on the battery system again within the first set time from charging completion to whole vehicle power-off, and if no insulation fault is detected, the stored insulation fault is eliminated; and if the insulation fault is detected again, the stored insulation fault is maintained, so that the problem that the vehicle can be successfully charged only after the insulation fault latch is firstly cleared when the vehicle is charged next time due to the insulation fault of the charging pile is solved, and the safety risk caused by lagging of real-time detection of the insulation abnormity of the battery system when the vehicle is charged next time is avoided.
