The invention discloses a vehicle close-range stopping method based on an unmanned aerial vehicle tracking technology, and the method comprises the steps: S1, transmitting a stopping task to an unmanned aerial vehicle through a wireless communication network, and transmitting the feature information and real-time position of a target vehicle to the unmanned aerial vehicle in a process that the unmanned aerial vehicle arrives at a designated place; s2, searching and recognizing the target vehicle based on the feature information of the target vehicle by using an image recognition system carried by the unmanned aerial vehicle until the target vehicle is found; and S3, when the unmanned aerial vehicle finds the target vehicle, tracking the target vehicle, and when a stopping condition is met, sending a high-power microwave beam to the target vehicle through the carried HPM equipment to destroy key electronic components of the target vehicle so as to realize short-distance stopping of the target vehicle. According to the invention, the unmanned aerial vehicle can carry the recyclable HPM equipment to emit the high-power microwave beam harmless to the human body to stop the vehicle, so that the life health and safety of personnel are ensured.
