The on-orbit plume thermal protection device for the spacecraft side-wall-mounted engine comprises a protection cover body, a protection cover plate and a high-temperature heat insulation screen assembly. The protective cover body is installed on the side wall of a spacecraft through a fastener. The protective cover cover plate is mounted at the top of the protective cover body through a fastener, and a spacecraft engine jet pipe mounting hole is formed in the protective cover cover plate; the high-temperature heat shield assembly covers the outer surfaces of the protective cover body and the protective cover cover plate to form a closed barrier layer, and is connected with the protective cover body and the protective cover cover plate through fasteners. The requirement for on-orbit plume thermal protection of a spacecraft with an engine installed on the side wall is met.
