The invention provides a maintenance tool and a maintenance method for a brake of a wind turbine generator. The maintenance tool comprises a containing part with a space used for containing the brake, an angle adjusting mechanism installed on the lower portion of the containing part and a lifting translation mechanism installed on the lower portion of the angle adjusting mechanism, and the lifting translation mechanism can make the containing part ascend and move to the position below the brake. The angle adjusting mechanism can enable the containing part to rotate to the angle matched with the angle of the brake, and therefore the bottom wall of the containing part abuts against the brake. When the maintenance tool is used for maintaining the brake, the maintenance tool can be aligned with the brake and provide support for the brake, so that an operator can maintain the brake in a narrow space conveniently, and the safety of the operator can be guaranteed.
