The invention relates to a trackless electric or hybrid electric vehicle (1) having a current collector (4) for supplying traction energy from a two-pole electric overhead line installation (3). The current collector (4) is provided with a supporting frame (7) which can be erected, a fixed end (10) of the supporting frame (7) is supported on the vehicle frame (2) in an articulated mode, and a free end (12) of the supporting frame (7) is connected with a rocker arm support (14) in an articulated mode. For each contact pole, the rocker arm (16, 17) with the friction strip (18) is elastically supported on the rocker arm support (14) through at least one spring assembly (19, 19 '). According to the invention, the restoring force (F) of the spring arrangement (19, 19 ') has a continuous spring characteristic curve (KL) over the contraction path (S) thereof. The contraction path (S) of the spring arrangement (19, 19 ') has, in succession, a first spring path (S1), in which the restoring force (F) increases by a first spring constant (K1), a second spring path (S2), in which the restoring force (F) remains constant, and a third spring path (S3), in which the restoring force (F) remains constant by a second spring constant (K1). The restoring force (F) increases with a second spring constant (K2) that is greater than the first spring constant (K1). As a result, a high contact quality can be achieved even when the contact line height varies.
