According to the storage basket connecting mechanism and the electric scooter, movement of the sliding piece can be controlled through rotation of the cam mechanism, and therefore switching of the clamping state between the first clamping part and the second clamping part is achieved. When the connecting mechanism is in a closed state, the storage basket fixing assembly can be installed on the connecting assembly and can rotate, and when the connecting mechanism is in an open state, the storage basket fixing assembly can be taken down from the connecting assembly. The application scenes of the storage basket are increased, meanwhile, the occupation of the storage basket on the riding treading space of a user is reduced, and the operation is simple. In addition, the installation process of the storage basket can be achieved through rotation of the cam mechanism, after the cam mechanism rotates in the opposite direction, the connecting assembly returns to the closed state again, and installation of the storage basket is completed.
