The invention relates to the technical field of elevator operation control, and discloses an elevator vertical scheduling and energy-saving operation algorithm which comprises the following steps: firstly, monitoring the number of passengers and the load condition in an elevator car in real time to determine the current load state of the elevator; then, the number of passengers waiting outside the hall of each floor and the load demand of the passengers are obtained, and the data are used for calculating the optimal elevator running path and direction through an algorithm, so that the passenger carrying efficiency is maximized, and meanwhile, the energy consumption is minimized. The algorithm also considers the moving time and energy consumption cost of the elevator between different floors. By analyzing the predicted arrival time and energy consumption of the elevator in different running directions, the decision algorithm can quickly respond to the calling requests of passengers and select the most effective running direction, so that no-load or low-load running is reduced as much as possible, and the overall performance of the elevator system is optimized.
